Abramovich eclipses Dubrovnik on his mega yacht

Roman Abramovich bought a little Happy New Year present for himself in 2011. But unlike the normal box of chocolates or winter sweater that we might buy each other the Russian billionaire had far greater plans, the mega yacht Eclipse. Measuring 162.5 metres long and costing an estimated €800 million, Abramovich doesn’t do things by half. And that very same New Year’s present sailed into Dubrovnik today and dropped anchor in front of the Old City.The Chelsea FC owner had the mega yacht built especially to his specifications, two helicopter pads, hot tubs, disco, mini submarine and two swimming pools. And security wasn’t overlooked the Russian billionaire ordered that his suite and the yacht’s bridge be fitted with bullet-proof glass and armour platting. The security conscious oil baron also had a missile defence system installed onboard and intruder detection alarms.Eclipse looked elegant as she manoeuvred between the Old City of Dubrovnik and the island of Lokrum this afternoon and obviously she was named correctly as she completely eclipsed a cruise ship anchored nearby.
