The objective is that Southeast Europe becomes an integral part of the European Union - Merkel

-Peace and stability, security, economic development and well-being are the most important objectives of Europe as a community of nations and peoples. It should be noted that the EU is not complete without Southeast Europe: only with their joining the Union will we be whole. We are here to help these friends and neighbors meet the conditions as soon as possible and become an integral part of the EU - said Croatian President, Ivo Josipovic, at the opening of this year's meeting of the “Brdo Brioni process” which was held in the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik.The Croatian President added that it is very important for the countries of the region that major infrastructure and transport projects were completed. He mentioned the Adriatic – Ionian motorway as well as a rail corridor and energy projects. – The objective is that Southeast Europe becomes an integral part of the European Union and therefore I am especially grateful for the presence of Chancellor Angela Merkel – concluded Josipovic in his opening speech.- I think it's good that today we are talking about specific projects. Cooperation among the countries of South Eastern Europe is so important that we have decided to bring together heads of government from all the states represented here in Berlin next year. At that meeting we will encourage very specific process and try to answer the questions about the perspective of the countries of South Eastern Europe - concluded Chancellor Merkel.
