Game of Thrones begins fifth season in Dubrovnik

The Game of Thrones is back in Dubrovnik for a fifth season! Filming for the HBO serial began today in Dubrovnik and will last until the 3rd of October. Actors and extras arrived on the Pile Gate entrance to the Old City early this morning and the walls above the gate will be used as a location all day today. Whereas the island of Lokrum, the Trsteno Arboretum and the Zupa region have all been used as locations in previous season this year filming will take place only in the Old City. If you are one of the millions of fans of the Game of Thrones then there are sure to be some photo opportunities in Dubrovnik.Apart from Dubrovnik the Dalmatian coastal towns of Sibenik and Split have also been used by the Game of Thrones production crew as locations for this fifth season.
