Storms bring heavy rain and flooding
18. siječnja 2015. - 17:20
The winter arrived today in Dubrovnik with 32 litres of rain per metre squared falling in just 35 minutes. Houses in the Zupa region were flooded, tress uprooted and traffic blocked as a storm hit the area. According to information from the emergency services two properties, both in Zupa, required the fire brigade to pump flood water out of them. The most hit was the block of houses in Kupari that had only just recovered from the floods in September 2014.The rain has been falling for most of the day and the forecast is for more rain on the way. The heavy rains combined with the strong southerly winds have been driving conditions treacherous and a few roads in more rural areas have been closed due to fallen trees.
