After a long and bumpy road it finally seems that Croatia is emerging from the recession. According to the expectations of eight macroeconomists, who have forecasted a growth of 0.2 percent of the last quarter of 2014, Croatia is slowly but surely coming out of the recession. And according to official figures that will be released later this week the Central Bureau of Statistics will also report that Croatia, after a long six years, has emerged from recession.“For Croatia to pull out of the recession we need two or three quarters of positive growth rate, so for that I believe that we will need more patience, but there are some serious trends and indicators to be optimistic,” commented the Deputy Prime Minister, Branko Grcic. The positive increase of 0.2 percent growth in the economy will have a minimal effect on the majority of Croatian citizens, new employment opportunities are what the country needs. “Usually new employment opportunities come after a delay of several months from the economic growth. There is still caution in the private sector and with employing new people. However the dynamic is changing and I expect that in the following months we will also make progress in this sector,” added Grcic.
