Dubrovnik slowly making steps in breaking winter blues

After record results in 2014 when Dubrovnik was visited by 863,801 tourists, or 12% more than in 2013, and achieved 3,121,125 overnight stays, or 9% more than in 2013, the city has started 2015 with yet more positive results.In the first two months of 2015 Dubrovnik was visited by 19,999 tourists, which is a 9% increase over the same period in 2014, according to statistics just released by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board. Breaking that number down there were 14,560 foreign tourists and 5,439 domestic visitors in January and February. A total of 54,902 overnight stays were achieved in the first two months of 2015, which is roughly at the same level as the start of 2014. Apart from Croatian tourists the most numerous were from Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Korea, Japan, USA, UK, Germany and Albania.The Asian tourist market has proved strong through the winter months of 2014 and the start of 2015. Thanks mainly to two popular South Korean reality shows that were broadcast last year the amount of guests from South Korea has increased in the first two months of 2015 by 27 percent. Also the number of guests from Japan has strongly increased, this time by 85 percent.
