Cycling race to be held throughout Croatia

One of the biggest and most expensive sports tourism events in Croatia, the Tour of Croatia cycling race, will be held on April 22-26 on a 900-km-long route stretching along the Adriatic coast and in much of the country's interior.The race will involve over 500 participants from a dozen European countries and is expected to draw thousands of tourists. It will be covered by Eurosport, Croatian HRT and other television channels in 54 countries where it is expected to be watched by 15 million viewers, the race organisers announced at a press conference in Zagreb on Thursday.The cost of the project is about 11 million kuna, and the single largest contribution of 4 million kuna has been provided by the National Tourism Board, the chief project partner.
