Busy cruise ship day on the way

It will be a busy day in the Port of Dubrovnik tomorrow, Thursday 25th June, with over 6,200 passengers expected to arrive on five cruise ships. The largest ship of the day will be Costa Mediterranean with just over 2,200 passengers, followed by MSC Lirica with 1,800 passengers. The Thompson cruise ship Celebration, for which Dubrovnik is a home port, will also dock in the port tomorrow.Saturday will also be a busy day in Dubrovnik with another 6,000 passengers on three mega cruise ships.A grand total of over 870,000 cruise ship passengers expected to visit Dubrovnik this year on 599 cruise ships. From this total 460 cruise ships will dock in the Port of Dubrovnik whilst the remaining 139 will drop anchor between the Old City of Dubrovnik and the island of Lokrum. Although these figures might seem abnormally large they are actually down on last year when slightly more than 914,000 cruise ship passengers arrived in Dubrovnik.
