It is widely known that Croatia has some of the cleanest seas in the world. The world-renowned diver Jacques Cousteau once proclaimed the Adriatic so crystal clear that it may be the purest sea in the Mediterranean. And now information from the Department of Environmental Protection brings us evidence that these claims of cleanliness are true. From the 13th to the 26th of June all of the beaches in the county were inspected and tested for water quality.Out of the 113 beaches in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County 111 beaches passed this test with the highest possible rating of “excellent.” Only two beaches passed the strict inspection with a “good” sea quality rating. The Department of Environmental Protection regularly check the county’s beaches throughout the summer season, this is the third time this year that the beaches have been tested and once again the results are very positive.Follow The Dubrovnik Times on Facebook
