Exactly two years ago to this day Croatia became a full member of the European Union. As midnight struck on the 1st of July 2013 many European options opened for Croatians, one of those options was the chance to work in another European state. Fourteen European countries welcomed Croatia workers with open arms, not imposing any labour restrictions on workers. However thirteen European countries imposed bans and restrictions on Croatian workers. These very bans are slowly coming to an end; Spain, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg have all dropped restrictions as of today, meaning that only five European members are still being unfriendly to Croatian workers. Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Slovenia and Malta have all announced that they will impose the maximum possible ban on Croatians, for at least another three years. These five countries have all informed the European Commission on their decisions.
