Far from the Madding Crowd

A few days ago I saw a very funny situation. A man, woman and two extra large suitcases. They were going pretty smooth with the wheels down along the Stradun, but as you well know the Old City is full of steps, more steps that the Great Wall of China. I think they were on the wrong side of the city. North never looked so nice. At the moment when they realized where their apartment was, the man wished he was women. Arnold Schwarzenegger, as I renamed him, realised he had to be a bodybuilder if he wanted to move the two large suitcases up, up, up step by step, to the top of the hill. When he finally managed to get to the apartment he became a bodybuilder. What I wanted to say (or write) is that you don't need necessary to be in the old town to feel the vibe. Sometimes it is much cheaper and cosier to be outside the city walls, and outside the town.Green, green grass of tourism With the increase of tourists every year many people turn to tourism in Dubrovnik. And now the tourism trend has spread to the outlying villages. They make their old houses, goat and cow houses into beautiful villas with pools but with a dash of village ambient. That type of tourism is very popular in Gornja sela (a cluster of villages) in Konavle and Dubrovacko Primorje. Old stone houses where you don't need air conditioner 'cause it's naturally cold during the summer and warm during the winter. You are surrounded with the music of crickets, and nature’s green and blue colours. Green trees and blue skies. There you don't need to set an alarm, the rooster will awake you. Because tourism is not only the sea, monuments and all night parties. Tourism has became much more. More than crowds and hustle and bustle. Maybe I will sound old (I'm not), but I seek peace when I am on vacation. And this little piece of heaven is enough far and enough close. Even if we do not have the fast road you are, with an old-fashioned road, very quickly in the town or by the sea. You are on vacation, where is the hurry?
