Avoid the Old City tomorrow as cruise ship invasion expected

If you were planning to have a coffee in the Old City tomorrow…you might want to make other plans. Saturday will be an extremely busy one in Dubrovnik as almost 6,500 cruise ship passengers are expected to disembark in the city. Three mega cruise ships will dock in the Port of Dubrovnik tomorrow carrying in total 6,478 passengers. The largest ship of the day will be MSC Magnifica with 2,646 passengers, followed by Costa Deliziosa with 2,404 passengers and Costa Classica with 1,428 passengers. Tomorrow will be one of the busiest days of the summer season so be sure to expect long traffic delays and crowded streets in the Old City.As if to highlight the problem of scheduling the arrival of cruise ships in Dubrovnik after this busy Saturday there will be only one tiny cruise ship on Sunday with 177 passengers. From 6,478 passengers to 117 passengers over the weekend, a rather top-heavy timetable.
