Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra hosts music festival

The opening of the third International Late Summer Music Festival Dubrovnik in will be held on Wednesday the 26th of August 26 with a concert at the Franciscan church, beginning at 9 o’clock.This first concert in the festival will be conducted by the Austrian conductor, and musical director of the festival Christoph Campestrini. And along with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra the choir “Pro Musica” as well as a choir of students from the musical art University of Mostar will also perform. The soloists of the premiere evening will be the soprano Nikolina Pinko Behrends, the mezzo-soprano Janja Vuletic, the tenor Domagoj Dorotić and the baritone Matthias Meić. Vivaldi and Mozart are on the program for the opening night of the third festival.The festival will be held from the 26th of August to the 22nd of September and is organized by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra with all of the concerts, apart from the opening night, to be held in the Rector's Palace. Over the last two years the festival has hosted many national and internationally recognized artists. The festival aims to provide the citizens of Dubrovnik and guests to the city quality cultural events after the end of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.This year the festival has a very rich program that includes a variety of musical styles.
