Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera officially opens

The luxurious Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel was officially opened last night by the Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic in a gala ceremony. This new five-star gem of Dubrovnik tourism, which includes over 250 rooms, a Spa centre and the largest conference hall in Croatia, is the result of an 80 million Euro investment by HUP Zagreb. The new Sheraton is located in Srebreno in the borough of Zupa.“Tonight is a celebration and a long-awaited business success. True, there were difficulties along the way, but we have also worked with some great good people who helped us reach this day. Thanks to everyone involved. Our biggest success is that we have employed more than 200 members of staff and without them we will not be in the position to achieve the desired results,” commented the president HUP Zagreb, Andelko Leko.Prime Minister Milanovic added that “as a student I worked in this area and I never thought I would be here opening a Sheraton Hotel. But Andjelko Leko is a true entrepreneur and he had a dream and we thank him for that.” Milanovic had arrived in Dubrovnik after meeting British Prime Minister, David Cameron, and was quick to compare the new hotel in Dubrovnik with his accommodation in London. “I have just come from a hotel in London that was three times more expensive to stay in than this hotel and quite frankly this Sheraton Hotel puts it to shame.”The night was opened with a short presentation of HUP Zagreb, including their hotels in Zagreb and Dubrovnik, and then the massed conference hall was addressed by numerous speakers.
