Raising money for good causes in Dubrovnik

The Dubrovnik Foreign Circle opened their traditional second-hand sale today in the Lazareti complex. For the past few days the foreign circle have been collecting articles for the sale and a variety of clothing, household objects, toys, books, etc are available.“We are very pleased with the initial turnout today and hope that we will be able to collect as much money as possible for our causes,” commented Christiane Mandukich, the president of the Dubrovnik Foreign Circle. She added that in cause of bad weather tomorrow they have plenty of indoor space in the Lazareti complex.All of the proceeds will be donated to the Children's Ward of the Dubrovnik hospital for the purchase of electric inhalers for children with asthma, and to the Marin Držić Primary School, for purchasing aids for children with speech difficulties.The sale continues tomorrow in the Lazareti complex, close to the Ploce entrance to the Old City of Dubrovnik, and is open from 11.00am to 5.00pm.Text and photos - Mark ThomasFollow The Dubrovnik Times on Facebook and Twitter
